Why We Created Wellnest: An All-In-One Tool vs. MealTrain + CaringBridge

When you or someone you love is diagnosed with cancer, the flood of logistics that follows can be crushing. Coordinating meals, keeping everyone updated, handling incoming gifts, and managing finances can become a full-time job — one that caregivers and patients alike shouldn’t have to take on alone.
I created Wellnest because I lived that chaos.
As a cancer survivor, I relied on MealTrain, CaringBridge, GoFundMe, Amazon, and group texts — all patched together in an overwhelming juggle of care. It made an already hard time even harder.
So, we built Wellnest: a single, compassionate, streamlined tool that brings it all together.
What Makes Wellnest Different?
Wellnest includes all the functionality of multiple tools in one place:
- Built-in fundraising tools
- A curated product registry
- A real-time support calendar
- A private health update journal
- A central dashboard to simplify communication
The Problem with Patchwork Tools
MealTrain is great for food delivery but doesn’t facilitate product needs or health updates. CaringBridge is wonderful for sharing updates but doesn’t coordinate care or logistics. Amazon Wishlists aren’t tailored for recovery, healing, or medical needs. Families like mine had to use all of them. Wellnest means you no longer have to.
Wellnest = Simplified, Streamlined, Support
Keep everyone updated with just one post. Allow friends to choose exactly how to help. Avoid 10 texts asking “what do you need?” Whether it’s organizing meals, sharing surgical recovery updates, or raising funds for extra medical costs — it’s all in one place.
For the Community, By the Community
Wellnest isn’t just another tech product. It’s a platform built from lived experience. We’ve been in the chemo chairs, waiting rooms, and surgery beds. We know what support actually looks like. And we’re building that support system for the next person who hears the words “you have cancer.”
